What is this?
Lately, I've taken up a bit of an odd hobby.
I've gotten into writing letters; not to people, but to companies. I'll be using this page
to archive rough summaries of the letters I write, as well as any responses— with any sensitive information
censored out, of course.
Okay, but why?
A few reasons, all of which are pretty stupid. The first reason is that, as you might have guessed from the rest of this site,
I like complaining about things. Thing is, nobody has to listen to you when you write some post on twitter
or on some random neocities page. If I send a letter, SOMEONE has to read it, if only to be sure it's not, like, a death threat or something.
That kind of pettiness makes for a pretty good method of venting. The other reasons are a little less silly; I like stationery and writing things on physical paper a lot.
I don't exactly have (nor really want) a pen-pal, so this is a good excuse to write letters.
Also, honestly, it's nice to think that maybe someone will pass by a dev or artist or something and go "this moron thinks you did a good job" at some point, even if that probably won't happen.
What do you write with?
As of right now (12/16/2022) all of my letters have been written with a Hi-Tec Coleto C Multipen after being drafted in Microsoft Word.
I use a Clairfontaine Triomphe pad of letter paper, size A4. Pretty much all of my writing supplies are purchased from JetPens. If I
ever find a decent 88x31 button for them, I'll slap it onto the links page. If I change writing supplies, I'll also note it here.
Anything else?
Please note that the summaries are pretty deliberately rough on purpose because I don't really want to expose my terrible handwriting nor how much (more) of a fucking dweeb I can be when talking in a non-typed format. Despite how off-kilter the summaries probably come off here, I do put in the effort to sound nice and not like some random tool just barking demands at a company; it's more of a "adding one more (intended to be pleasant) voice to the chorus" sort of deal.
I'd also prefer you not spread this around if you stumble upon it; I don't want this going viral and having people think I'm gunning for clout, or something. Think of it like a stupid little shrine to a guy shouting at the void, but with slightly more effort than most people put into shouting at the void.
The Riot Letter (Sent 12/14/22)
Rough Summary:
Arcane was pretty good. Project L looks great. I don't like MOBAs so please put the characters I think are cool into other things, or at least make a statue or figure or something, please.
Also here's a drawing of the character I like the most. He's very cool, please consider using him in things other than League.
The Sega Letter (Sent 12/09/22)
Rough Summary:
Something something I'm a large fan of Puyo Puyo, something something please consider making an actual Puyo game or a remaster of the Fever titles.
Big fan, please give my regards to Hideyuki Takenami and Shoko Ninomiya. Here's a drawing of my favorite Puyo character.
PS: Please let Takenobu Mitsuyoshi sing in more games.
The Splatoon Letter (Sent 07/29/22 | Response Receieved 10/17/22)
Rough Summary:
Big fan, inspired by Splatoon 3's character design work and the work of illustrators involved.
Requested for Jibb Smart's Flick Stick system to be added to Splatoon 3's gyro functionality, as well as the removal of the twitter requirements for
Splatnet art posting. Specifically cited Fortnite's implementation of the gyro stuff as I've heard it's quite good, though I don't play Fortnite personally.
Also included a rough drawing of an inkling. As an aside, this letter was what started this hobby, and was done as a bit; I was talking to my friends about Splatoon and
as one of them lamented the lack of mouse control (or improved Gyro control) I made the joke that I could pull a "my dad" and send in a physical letter.

This is probably a template letter of sorts, judging by the other fanmail responses I've seen. The "small item" included was a double-sided cardstock bookmark,
printed with a render of Bowser on one side, and Wario on the other. The Bowser render is this render
that appears to be a remake of a render from NSMBWii (Although the one on the bookmark is cropped slightly lower than that image), and the Wario render is this render from Mario Party: The Top 100.
